Irene Angelopoulos

Litigation Law Clerk

Irene has held a strong interest in law for years, starting with her fascination with politics, international relations, and the Charter as a teen. She attended the University of Toronto and obtained an Honours BSc in Political Science, an Honours BA in Cinema Studies, and a minor in English. She was able to apply her passion for civics, citizenship and identity to working on short films for non-profit organizations, and developed her artistic side during this time, creating animations and illustrations for films, interactive installations, and for personal enjoyment.

Her career path also included years of arts administration, a role that required her to wear many hats, and was also rich in experience. Her time in arts administration helping artists with a plethora of issues, from funding to housing to contracts, helped her see how important the law was in our everyday lives, and she wanted to explore this facet further as a means of making a positive impact in people’s lives. She has recently graduated from Seneca College’s Law Clerk Program and is pleased to be working in Wills and Estates as a litigation law clerk with Goddard Gamage. At the time of starting the Law Clerk Program, Irene did not know much about Estates law, but an amazing teacher inspired her and made her realize that it is a field that speaks to the human aspects of law, which she finds appealing and fulfilling. Joining Goddard Gamage LLP in 2023 helped confirm that this field was a rewarding one for her.

As litigation law clerk, Irene provides support to the firm’s lawyers and also has the opportunity to work with clients to help them navigate the legal process. She enjoys helping clients in every way she can and prides herself on being responsive and approachable.

Irene’s hobbies and passions include filmmaking, illustration, and trying to play electric guitar.
